snowing was actually not expected at this season...how lucky .... it's really an eye opener....& from our expressions can imagine how happy our feelings...
snow was getting heavier & heavier.....& we stopped by to play abit...
my husband is always very happy when eating is involved...his expression can tell....
stroll by are sake breweries and merchant houses with latticed bay windows lined in a row..

from here, u can oso pick up thier popular sarubobo good luck charms .... which is a Japanese amulet, partiularly associated wif the town of Takayama... they are red human shaped dolls, with no facial features, made in variety sizes. Traditionally, sarubobos are made by grandmothers for thier grandchildren as dolls, and for their daughers as a charm for good marriage, good children & to ensure a well rounded couple.....
& i have actullay got 1 for myself.....
next, v moved to Shirakawa-go village... a well preserved UNESCO world heritage site to view its old farmhouses with steep roofs resembling two hands folded for a prayer...
