Went to visit my GP because of my block nose and cough. The doctor has mentioned that it's not a flu... but is actually my mucus & sinus has caused the issue. He advised that the mucus to be cleared throughly before it goes worsen and forms into polyps again...i was prescribed with 10 days antibiotics and to use the nasal spray for the next few months ......
I had actually went under the knife to remove my nasal polyps 6 years ago. This was not a good expereience and the scanairo at that moment is hard to wipe off totally from my memory. Imagine i need to put under anaesthetic and pushed to the operation room for more than 2 hours. I was then given 1 month's MC and need to learn breathing via the mouth before the 2 cotton bud stud inside the nose to be remove after a week...and guess how much i need to settle the bill....nearly 10K (but luckily the insurance company settled the full amount)
For those who might wanted to know more about nasal polyps....
In general, polyps are usually nonmalignant growths or tumors extruding from the membrane lining of an organ in various parts of the body such as the nose, often causing obstruction and congestion. When nasal polyps develop, nasal airways may become blocked creating breathing difficulties. Polyps can also block drainage, creating stagnant secretions that stay in the sinus cavities. These stagnant secretions lead to an infection and cause sinusitis.
The 'paranasal sinuses' are the air cavities within the skull that open into the nose. If the soft tissue lining of the sinuses becomes swollen, it fills with mucus and then expands into the nose forming a growth called a nasal polyp. Nasal Polyps can also be caused by various diseases in the nasal cavities.
